Our Board of Directors is comprised of leaders in the financial, business, legal, and arts sectors, from across the United States, all of whom enthusiastically volunteer time and expertise. We work closely with dedicated volunteers and community liaisons to increase opportunities for youth to experience the positive impact of being involved in music and arts, with benefits extending far beyond the stage and studio.

President and Co-Founder
Beth A. Corets
Beth is an entertainment lawyer, entrepreneur, and producer. She serves as COO for two companies co-producing film and TV projects, including WEDNESDAY (Netflix). She is a Tony Award-winning co-producer of Broadway’s John Protector is the Villain, Romeo + Juliet, The Outsiders, SUFFS, and the Tony-nominated productions of The Lost Boys, and Giant. She is CEO of BACOR, the parent company of Handbag Handcuff®.

Marketing and Events Director
Maria Laino DeLuca
With over 20 years in marketing, Maria is a brand strategist and event producer. She founded De La Marketing, a boutique agency with clients like Peacock, Netflix, and Showtime. As former SVP at Bravo, she led campaigns for all series including "Top Chef," and "The Real Housewives," and created BravoCon. Maria is a proud mom of 3 in Glen Cove.

Treasurer and Secretary
Mark Kohn
Mark has been in the financial arena for more than 35 years, specifically in the insurance premium finance industry. In 2003 he started and was managing partner at AICC, a Long Island based premium finance company. In 2023 he merged and partnered with a national lending institution where he continues to manage and grow his portfolio.

Creative Director and Co-Founder
Valerie Lasser
Valerie Lasser is a senior film editor creating mainstream media for over 30 years including advertising and movies. A major highlight of her career has been to mentor and instruct up and coming talent in ways that have proven to elevate careers, so in 2023 it only seemed natural that Valerie began teaching TV Production at GCHS.

Melinda Basaca
Melinda Basaca was born and raised in Glen Cove. She is the Associate Costume Director at the Public Theater and served as its Staff Board Representative from ‘24-‘26. Melinda is also on the executive board of FANHS Metro NY.
Shannon Ernst
Shannon Ernst is the Project & Business Development Manager at JF Gardemal Designs. She brings 25+ years in retail leadership, delivering refined, detail-driven interior design experiences from concept to completion.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! Because FAME GC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, your donation is tax deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law. Our EIN/Tax ID number is 86-3625584. Our financial documents are available upon request.

How is FAME GC funded?
FAME GC relies on private and corporate donations, matching gifts, grants and bequests. We also welcome event sponsorships. Unless otherwise specified at Zelle® and PayPal® at checkout, all funds are allocated to our general fund from which we fund scholarships and create programming and events.

How can I donate by mail?
We also accept paper! Checks payable to FAME GC INC should be sent to PO Box 833, Locust Valley, NY 11560. Should you have a specific wish for how the funds to be used, please do not forget to write it into the memo section of your check.

What if I want to make a donation that is split among categories or scholarships?
If you are making a donation by check, simply specify where you want the money to be used in the memo section. If you’re making an online donation, at checkout you will click on General Fund and designate that distribution in the memo.

How can I volunteer?
We love volunteers! FAME GC started as, and remains, an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers remain essential to our work and we need If you would like to become a volunteer, please email us with your area of interest, availability, and skill set. We will reach out when we have an opportunity that could be a good fit.

Do you offer community service credit?
FAME GC welcomes volunteers of any age, however, if you are a minor or student, we will need your parent or guardian’s consent and ask that you provide their contact information. We offer community service credit to middle school, and high school students who work on special projects with us. Please reach out to explore these options!
