Melinda Basaca has been a full-time staff member for almost 10 years. Cumulatively, Melinda has been working at the Public Theater for about 14 years, initially working as a wardrobe supervisor, wig supervisor, and costume shop PA doing stitching, crafting, and other duties. She has a career working in theater / performing arts spanning 20 years working at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis Orchestra, John Jay College Gerald W. Lynch Theater, Joffrey Ballet School, New York Theater Workshop, Signature Theatre, and other NYC performance institutions.
She has a degree in business for marketing and management, associate’s degree, and master’s degree in Fashion Design. Melinda is finishing her second term as Staff Board Representative at the Public Theater, where she acts as a liaison between the full-time staff and the Public Theater’s Board.
She is also on the executive board of the Filipino American National Historical Society for Metro NY (FANHS-MNY) and is on the FAME GC Advisory board, founded in her hometown.
At the Public Theater she is a part of the cultural steering committee, the POC, and AAPI affinity groups. She grew up on Long Island New York, with Filipino parents who immigrated to the U.S. in the late 60’s, and has a beautiful, loyal pitbull named Utah.

Mastering the Art of Arts Administration
with BT McNicholl
This FREE inaugural session with BT MCNICHOLL, the former Producing Artistic Director of Tony-nominated La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts in California, was recorded on January 7, 2026.
BT McNicholl has been an original member of creative teams beyond more than a dozen Broadway productions, including the Tony-Award winning BILLY ELLIOT, CABARET, and SPAMALOT, starring artists such as Neil Patrick Harris, Brooke Shields, John Stamos, Morgan Freeman, Kristen Chenoweth, Nathan Lane, and Alan Cumming. He has served as Associate Director to Oscar-winners Sam Mendes and Mike Nichols, as well as Broadway luminaries Jerry Zaks, Stephen Daldry, David Hare, and Rob Marshall. His work extends to Hollywood, where he has been associated with several feature films, including an Oscar-nominated project.
Internationally, McNicholl has staged record-breaking productions in Paris, Madrid, and Sydney, winning the Australian Tony Award (the Helpmann) for Best Direction and staging the European premiere of THE PRODUCERS for Mel Brooks. A BMI Award-winning writer, he has created musicals that have played Off-Broadway, on national tours, and Madison Square Garden. BT has also directed at the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall.
A highly regarded speech coach, he collaborated with Pfizer for ten years and has overseen scores of live corporate events. In family and themed entertainment, he has won two international “Brass Ring” awards (IAAPA) for shows that have run a combined total of 23 years – and counting. His additional expertise includes work as a Development Consultant for MGM On Stage, collaborations with the Shubert Organization, and writing for the Associated Press Newswire.

The FREE session with DAN COHEN, Chief Content Licensing Officer for Paramount Global, and the President of Republic Pictures was recorded on April 21, 2025. Dan is the former head of content licensing and distribution operations at Paramount Global. He is responsible for monetizing a large and growing portfolio of original content that airs or streams on the CBS Television Network, The CW, Paramount+ and SHOWTIME, as well as programming from Paramount Pictures, CBS Studios, CBS News, CBS Media Ventures, the MTV Entertainment Studios, Nickelodeon, VIS, Miramax and third-party partners through the Republic Pictures label. He also runs worldwide home entertainment for the company overseeing the distribution of the industry’s largest library of film and television titles.
Dan's storied career also includes 20 years at Disney/ABC, where he served as Executive Vice President of Pay Television and Digital Sales for home entertainment and television distribution for Walt Disney Studios.
