FAME GC and Finley Middle School PTA Bring Award-Winning Actor Luis Guzmán to Glen Cove for a District-Wide Cultural Arts Experience

FAME GC, in partnership with the Finley Middle School PTA, was proud to present a one-of-a-kind Cultural Arts Experience for Glen Cove students featuring acclaimed actor Luis Guzmán.

The innovative program engaged students across grade levels and disciplines—transforming a single guest appearance into a district-wide educational moment that bridges storytelling, media, and the arts.

Middle School students in grades 6–8 participated in two age-appropriate fireside chats with Guzmán, whose career spans film, television, and stage. Known for iconic roles in Wednesday, The Addams Family, Narcos, Boogie Nights, and Traffic, Guzmán shared his personal journey, creative process, and the importance of perseverance, authenticity, and cultural pride.

In addition, select GCHS students participated in an Interdisciplinary Cultural Arts Lab, modeled after a real film and television press junket. This immersive experience provided portfolio-worthy, real-world learning across multiple disciplines:

• TV Production students filmed the auditorium interview

• Journalism students conducted a formal news segment

• Podcast students hosted a red-carpet–style interview

• Photography students captured portraits and event imagery

Together, these components showed students how media, arts, and storytelling work together in the real world—while giving them authentic experience in professional roles.

Through this collaboration, FAME GC and the Finley Middle School PTA continue to expand access to meaningful arts enrichment, reinforcing Glen Cove’s reputation as a premier district for creative education on Long Island.
